The Evalution of Ipods

The Evalution of Ipods over the years By: Connie Mac 71

Over the years, technology has grown, expanded and improved. There are many amazing things we can do now because of technology. But what I want to talk about is: The evalution of Ipods over the years. The ipod has been upgraded many times and each large change is called a “generation”. Each model has few or several generations.

Ipod Classic
The Ipod Classic has 6 generations. The first generation of the Classic was released on October 23 2001, Apples first model. Since then, the models have changed designs, capacity has become larger and battery life as well.

Ipod Mini

The Ipod Mini has only 2 generations and is similar to the Ipod Classic except it comes in 5 colours, and capacity is not as large. The mini only survives about a year before it is replaced by the Ipod Nano.

Ipod Nano

The Nano has 3 generations and has a similar design like the Mini, but more rectangular. The third generation however is almost shaped like a square, not like its earlier generations. The Nano is available in 6 colours.

Ipod Shuffle

The shuffle has 2 generations and was released around the time the Nano was released. This model has no screen at all and has a small capacity of 1 GB or 2GB. It comes in 5 colours.

Ipod Touch

The Ipod Touch has 1 generation so far and is the first with a Multi-Touch face. The screen is much larger than earlier models and has wireless access to the itunes store and Youtube. It also has a large capacity, with 5 hours of video.

Overall each model and generation has only improved and satisfied customers. Apples dedication to expanding and improving the Ipod series has paid off. By September 2007, the Ipod has sold over 150 million units worldwide making it the best selling digital audio player series in history. Whether it’s the Classic or the Nano that you like, it comes down to this:
SHOULD I GET AN IPOD?

MORE QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:

Do you think Ipods are better than mp3’s?
Which model do you think is the best? Why?
Why do you think Ipods are so popular?
Do you agree that Ipods improve your life?

Yes and no. You should get an iPod if it is what you want for you.I think that if you are just getting an iPod to fit in or to be cool, then no I do not think that you should get an iPod.iPods are great to have to listen to music that you enjoy. In a way iPods can be better than mp3 players because some have movies and pics, but if you just like to listen to music and not all of the other fancy stuff then you should just get the mp3 player. I think if you have an iPod great and if you don't have an iPod great! It is good either way and I don't think that they improve your life a whole lot at all. It is good both ways!

Yes I think that you should get an Ipod because in the text it says that the Ipod has been upgraded many times so if it has been upgraded then that means you must be able to put lots of songs on it and it probably has lots of functions these days. The text also mentions the Ipod Touch and it says that it has wireless acsses to the itunes store and YouTube and has a large capacity for songs and 5 hours of video. it also says that the Ipodis the best audio player in history. A connection I made while reading the text is that Mp3's are also populer and CD's are still available. Another connection I made is that no one in my house has and Ipod but my mom has lots of CD's. I think this is relavant to the gist statement because Ipods though populer still haven't toke over Cd's and Mp3 players. So if you don't want all the functions of a Ipod you can buy something cheaper like a CD player of some other kind of music plaer. I belive Ipods are the best music player you can buy but there is still CD's and other music palyers around and still in stock.

Yes you should get an Ipod if you want an mp3 player. An Ipod is an Mp3 player but they have a lot of cool features that some mp3 players dont have. Plus Ipods are known to be reliable and have lots of cool acessaries. However, if you just want to listen to music on it then it doesn't really matter wich one you buy.You should not buy CD's because you will have to pay for music when you could just dowload it (illegally). A connection I have is that I have an Ipod which has never had any problems but my sisters mp3 has. Overall, I think Ipods are the best buy for your money.

I think ipods are beneficial things to own. For one they are great sources of entertainment, you can listen to music, play games and even watch videos on some. When purchasing you can buy the ipod that best suits you, there are various sizes and capacities. There are even downloadable podcasts, and many schools have podcast making and viewing clubs. One of the reasons I personally prefer Ipods over mp3 players is because they look better, i think mp3 players aren't that flashy. So there you go, some of the reasons why you should get up right now, and buy an Ipod.

I think that someone would want an
ipod because they play music they take pictures and can show videos.
For example the ipod touch can hold 5 hours of video. So this is
why someone might want an ipod.

Yes i do think ipods are better for many reasons. I think they are prettier or nicer, they have more features, are newer, hold more songs and have bigger screens. Which are a lot of better things than mp3s. Mp3s are still good, but I think ipods are better.
